The Austin Cambridge Was A Type Of Car That The Austin Motor Company Sold From 1954 To 1969, And As Light Commercials Until 1971. It Replaced The A40 Somerset But Was Completely New With A Modern Body Construction. The Range Of Cars Had Two Main Body Styles. The A40, A50, And Early A55S Had A Traditional Rounded Shape, While The Later A55 Mark Iis And A60S Had A Different Style Called Farina Styling. Please Remember That The A40 Number Was Used Again On A Smaller Car From 1958 To 1967. Also, The Cambridge Name Had Been Used Before To Describe One Of The Body Styles That Were Available On The 10 Hp Range Before The War. At First, The Austin Cambridge Came With A 4-Passenger, 4-Door Saloon Body. But They Also Made A Few 2-Door Models Before They Started Mass Production. It Had A Modern Body Shape With Wings And A Wide Front Grille. The Front Of The Car Had Coil Springs And Wishbones That Allowed Each Wheel To Move Independently. However, The Back Of The Car Still Had A Solid Rear Axle With An Anti-Roll Bar. A Type Of Van Came Out In November 1956, And A Type Of Car That Can Function Both As A Coupé And A Utility Vehicle Was Introduced In May 1957. These Models Were Sold Until 1974, Which Was 3 Years After The Original Cars They Were Based On Stopped Being Produced.
