The Mark IV was made available to the public in October 1966 and had many significant changes, not just on its appearance. The most important change is the switch from a top that could be taken off and stored in the trunk to a top that is permanently attached and can fold down easily. As car manufacturers wanted to make their cars safer, they started using separate brake and clutch master cylinders.
