3 Stage painting was once only reserved for Motorbikes, but since the year 2000 the colours have been slowly moving onto Cars.
What is a 3 Stage Colour?
A 3 stage colour consists of 2 different paints going on first the a lacquer coat, hence the tern 3 stage. The first coat is called the ground coat paint it is the main colour coat, the second coat is called the effect coat and this will be a very translucent nearly like clear lacquer coat but will have pearl paint effects in the mixture, this is what give the colout that kick when the Sunshine hits it. The last coat is the Clear lacquer protective shine coat.
